· FOOD

Chazuke or Ochazuke is a very simple Japanese rice dish. It is eaten all throughout Japan. When there is not enough time for cooking, chazuke is very convenient to cook. First, we make the cold rice warm by heating it in a microwave oven. Second, we put the ingredients like umeboshi, seaweeds, pickles, salmon flakes, etc on rice. Third, we pour hot green tea on it. There are various ingredients and we can just choose anything we would like to add. Chazuke is a traditional Japanese food but it is not clear as to when we started eating chazuke in Japan. We sometimes eat chazuke with cold tea in summer. If you like green tea, please try chazuke in Japan.
