Many junior high school students go to cram schools to prepare for entrance examination in high schools. A cram school is called "juku" in Japanese. Some junior high school students go to juku as soon as they enter their junior high schools. They usually go to juku 2 to 3 days a week after their after-school activities such as sports, music and art. Since our school year is from April to March, entrance examinations in schools are held in March or February. In case of the high school entrance examination in Osaka prefecture, it will be held in March 11. Many students who have an examination would concentrate on preparing for it during this time.
