Doll's Festival is called Hina Matsuri in Japan. It is a family event where they celebrate having girl members. If families have girls, they wish for their growth and happiness on March 3 with dolls and special dishes such as "chirashizushi". It is thought that chirasizushi is auspicious food in Japan. Families display a set of dolls respecting the emperor, empress, and others. There are many kinds of dolls to prepare on the day. Some families display gorgeous ones but we set very simple ones as shown in the picture.
