News paper said that many students from foreign countries study in universities located in Kansai region. The number of students from foreign countries in some universities located in Kansai are the following.

Ritsumeikan University (Kyoto) 2446 people
Kyoto University (Kyoto) 2387 people
Doshisha Univercity (Kyoto) 1397 people
Kobe University (Hyogo) 1304 people
Kansai University (Osaka) 1060 people

Tokyo University which is the top of universities in Japan has 3853 students from foreign countries. Waseda University also has 5412 students from foreign countries. These universities are located in Kanto region which include Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, Saitama, Tochigi, Ibaragi, Gunma and Yamanashi.
Companies want foreign students to stay and work in Japan. However, about 70% of people who graduated from Japanese universities choose to work in foreign countries. Some graduates said that they avoided working in Japanese companies because Japanese companies have peculiar cultures like lifetime employment, a seniority-based salary and seniority-system in which senior staff is easily promoted.
