MAIZURU WORLD BRICK MUSEUM

The buildings which were built by the Japanese navy in 1901 are used as Maizuru World Brick Museum.

· SIGHTSEEING

The buildings which were built by the Japanese navy in 1901 are used as Maizuru World Brick Museum. When the buildings were built, they were used as warehouses of torpedos. More than 50 years after the end of the war, they have not been used anymore. Since they are very beautiful and historical valuable buildings, it was renovated as a museum. It is not one of world heritage sites but one of Japan heritage sites. Japanese tangible and intangible cultural properties have been designated as “Japan Heritage” by the Agency of Cultural Affairs. World bricks and the history of Japanese red bricks are displayed there. You can see Japanese old buildings.
