The updated foreign resident status policy was released by the Japanese government yesterday. According to the policy, a maximum of 340,000 foreign workers can be accepted in 5 years’ time. The bilateral agreements with Nepal and Mongolia will be concluded by March. The Japanese government will conclude the bilateral agreements with 9 countries by March. The issues which are to be decided by the government were also cited.
They are as follows:
Measures to avoid the concentration of foreign workers in big cities.
Regulations to control fraudulent labor brokers.
Japanese language support and consultation for foreign workers.
Regulations regarding remuneration and employment agreement which companies have to follow.
