Oden is a very famous Japanese food. There are various tastes and ingredients in different areas in Japan.


Most Japanese people know oden and that it is often served in winter. Because it is a pot dish and it makes us feel warm while eating it. We can eat oden in some places such as restaurants, homes, street stalls, and convenience stores. Karashi which is a kind of mustard is often used as a condiment. When we cook oden, we simmer some ingredients with soup stock for a few hours. Then, the soup stock soaks into the ingredients and the taste becomes better. The ingredients that we need in cooking oden are eggs, carrots, radishes, chicken, seaweeds, konnyaku, a tubular roll of boiled fish paste, deep-fried tofu, and 3 collar's fish balls.
