SETSUBUN 3

Ehomaki is also a traditional event in Setsubun.

· CULTURE

Ehomaki is also a traditional event in Setsubun. Eho literally means a good point of the compass and maki means makisushi which is a kind of sushi. So, Ehomaki is a traditional event that people eat makisushi turning our face toward the good point of the compass. In addition, we silently eat it wishing for our good health and happiness. It is said that the event spread out from Osaka across Japan. The good point of the compass this year is the east-northeast. I also ate makisushi turning my face toward the east-northeast and wishing for my good health and happiness.
