I have three reasons why I chose to go to Shodoshima for my summer vacation. The first reason is that Setouchi Triennale 2019 (https://setouchi-artfest.jp/en/) is being held in several islands at Seto inland sea. We can see many exhibitions in Shodoshima as shown in the pictures. The second reason is that there are many traditional soy sauce factories and olive products sold there. Soy sauce is one of my favorite sauces. I also really like olive oil and olive pickles. The third reason is why I wanted to go to Twenty-four Eyes Movie Studio. Twenty-four Eyes is a movie filmed on Shodoshima that depicts the life of a school teacher and her first class of 12 students. Other movies also were shot on the island.
