The number of births is decreasing rapidly in 2019.

According to the statistics from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare(MHLW), the number of births is decreasing rapidly in 2019. The number of births in 2018 was 918,397 persons, a decrease by 27,668 from 2017. However, the number of births in 2019 is predicted to be under 900,000 persons. I think it would effect the Japan's social security system. According to the data released by the MHLW, the number of births from January to July 2019 was 518,590 persons. There's a decrease of 5.9% compared to the same period last year. The second baby boomer in Japan are the people who were born from 1971 to 1974. They will be over 45 years old at the end of this year, so they have lesser chances of having a baby. The MHLW estimated that the number of births will be under 500,000 persons in 2021. We will be facing on more serious problems like the increase in the number of aging people, declining number of children and labor shortage soon.
