· FOOD

Buta-kimchi-don is a kind of bowl dishes and means fried pork with kimchi on the rice. In a Korean restaurant, it is served in an iron bowl and chopsticks which are also made from iron. The pickles shown in the picture are a cucumber and Chinese cabbage on the upper right, a shallot on the lower right, a dried cuttlefish on the upper left and beef tendon on the lower left. Japanese pickles are seasoned with salt and soy sauce but Korean pickles are seasoned with kimchi.

When you eat buta-kinchi-don, you should mix all of the ingredients. There are many Korean restaurants in cities throughout Japan. Since Japanese Korean restaurants serve very delicious cuisine like authentic Korean cuisine in Korea, I highly recommend you to eat it during your travel in Japan.
