The Ministry of Justice unveiled two types of resident status under consideration. The first type of resident status is that foreign workers can only stay within 5 years without their families and at the same time they are not allowed to renew their resident status. On the other hand, the second type is that they can stay for 5 years with their family and they can renew their status without limit. There are 10 categories of industries which they can work on. Such of these are agriculture, nursing, construction, manufacturing, hotels and so on. The new system is planned to be established by April 2019.
