I went back to my home town with my family to meet my father. He has a small field and we enjoyed harvesting sweet potatoes. The beginning of autumn is the best season to harvest sweet potato in Japan. It is said that sweet potato sweetens in a week after its harvest. My wife cooked several kinds of sweet potato dishes after it has sweetened.
The first picture below is baked sweet potatoes. The second one is sweet potatoes simmered with sugar. The third one is miso soup with pork, sweet potatoes, and other vegetables.
