CABBAGE ROLL

Cabbage roll is a western-style dish called yoshoku in Japan.

There are two kinds of foods called Washoku and Yoshoku in Japan. Washoku means Japanese originated foods like sushi, sukiyaki, udon, soba, sashimi and so on. Yoshoku also means Japanese foods but they are originated from European countries. About 200 years ago, foreign traders asked Japanese chefs to cook their European foods and showed the ways to cook them. One of them is cabbage roll. According to Wikipedia, it is eaten in many countries and regions such as Azerbaijan, Romania and Moldova, Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Nordics, Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia, North Africa, Egypt and United States.
