Kaisen-don in sightseeing places is more expensive than the ones sold in seafood restaurant chains. I had a chance to eat it both in a sightseeing place and a seafood restaurant chain by chance during two weeks. The sightseeing place is Maizuru city where is located in the north of Kyoto prefecture. The menu and salmon roe with minced tuna are shown in the pictures. The salmon roe with minced tuna was 1,750 yen. The price range of the Kaisen-don in the restaurant is between 850 yen and 2,150 yen. When I talked about the market with local people, they said that local people have never been here to buy. So, I recommend foreign travelers to eat kaisen-don in seafood restaurant chains.
Everything is expensive in sightseeing places but you can enjoy watching what are sold there.
